Imagine what the Beatles’ ‘Abbey Road’ would have sounded like if it had been originally released by Metallica, and you have a good starting point for ‘Abbey Load.’
You’ve got to tip your hat to the lads in Beatallica. Few would have thought to merge together two of the most successful acts of their respective genres – pop tunesmiths the Beatles and thrash metal bashers Metallica – and create a must-hear, creative blend of both iconic artists. And the band that contains such wittily named band members as Jaymz Lennfield, Kliff McBurtney, Ringo Larz, and Grg III are back with their third full-length overall, ‘Abbey Load,’ via Oglio Records.

Those other inglorious bastards, Beatallica, the only rock band in the world legally approved to bash up The Beatles and Metallica into new original masterpieces, return with the brand spanking new studio album, Masterful Mystery Tour, on Oglio Records, a Fontana/Universal distributed label. Masterful Mystery Tour is the official follow up to Sgt. Hetfield’s Motorbreath Pub Band, the album that owes its initial legal existence to the coolness that is Lars Ulrich with the official blessing from the Metallica camp. Recorded on the heels of their All You Need Is Blood EP and the Drinkus Maximus World Tour, Beatallica along with their producer and engineer Flemball Rasmartin, have hit their stride for maximum awesomeness, taking their sound to a whole new blistering level. Beatallica’s technically brilliant musicianship and uncanny ability to craft two polar opposites into new unique must hear songs, continues to separate them from the pack.

Los Angeles – Oglio Records has reissued three classic Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling albums from the Jokeland vaults, What Did You Expect, Goin’ Ape and Normal People Are People You Don’t Know Very Well. In celebration of April Fool’s Day, the only holiday devoted to all things funny, Oglio Records is running a month long comedy sale with the digital versions of all 11 Jackie Martling comedy albums on sale for only $4.99, including at Amazon and iTunes.
The Jackie reissues are his first three comedy albums, originally released on vinyl. What Did You Expect (his official comedy debut and originally released in 1979), Goin’ Ape (originally released in 1980) and Normal People Are People You Don’t Know Very Well (originally released in 1981). These were the albums that Jackie later sent to Howard Stern and by 1986, Jackie was a full time member of The Howard Stern Show.
Jackie signed with Oglio Records in 1996 and by 2011, their partnership accounts for 11 official Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling comedy albums, a comedy podcast series with fellow Oglio Records recording artist Red Peters and Jackie ring tones. The famous Jackie laugh is now available as various ring tones at Verizon, AT&T and all mobile carriers.
I love jokes, and I’ve remembered every one I’ve come across since 1954. – Jackie Martling

Carl Oglio is a huge Howard Stern Show fan, and in 1996 he asked me to record a CD for his Oglio Records. I’m still smiling about turning him down. I mean, saying yes, I’d love to.
Since the girls wouldn’t say “Sgt. Pecker,” I told the crowds at the tapings for the next CD that I decided to make it a bit more cryptic and call the next one “Hot Dogs & Donuts,” figuring if somebody made something sexual of it that it was as much them as it was me.
Nancy Sirianni, my production partner & wife, came up with the photo ideas and spelling out the name with hot dogs & donuts.

My second CD, Sgt. Pecker, was recorded in 1995 at “Chuckles,” in Mineola, one of the three original Long Island comedy clubs.
Growing out of Long Island’s first actual comedy show, produced by me & Richie Minervini at “Cinnamon,” a restaurant in Huntington, in 1979, were Richie Minervini’s “The East Side Comedy Club,” Jackie Martling’s “Governor’s Comedy Shop,” and Jim Myers “Chuckles.” On stage at Chuckles I ad-libbed a lot of the lines that are still with me every show.
I love the very end. The CD closes with a classic motorcycle joke that I had repaired many years earlier. I’ll explain that and ramble on a lot more about my second Oglio CD Sgt. Pecker on my blogalicious with Red Peters.
After a few days of telemarketing this CD, selling lots because as part of my radio deal Howard Stern said the number twice a day to millions of listeners, West Telemarketing called and told us they were dropping the product because their little old ladies in Omaha who answered the phones refused to say “pecker.” I swear.
I announced on the air the next day that it was the last day the CD would be available by phone, and we sold 20,000. Far & away our best sales day ever. Quintessential good new, bad news.

The Joke Man was recorded on a very funny Thursday night in 1993 at The Funny Bone on South Street in Philadelphia. The taping went so well that I had to stay out and celebrate.
I didn’t get back to my hotel room until 3:30 a.m., and made the operator laugh when I asked for a wake-up call for 3:45 a.m. The phone rang, I got up and made my way to New York City, and got to my seat on The Howard Stern Show at 5:50 a.m., just in time for the 6 a.m. show. My favorite places on the CD are when I worked my way into “I used to date a midget” & the classic closer, one of the “oldest, stupidest, most childish, and funniest jokes I ever heard.”
I’ll be explaining them in detail & talking about other fun stuff about my first Oglio CD The Joke Man on my blog with Red Peters.

You asked for it and you got it! The two Oglio Kurt Baker albums combined on one low priced CD!
Kurt Baker is a singer, songwriter and rock n’ roll performer from Portland, Maine who has always gone by the famous saying “Have a Good Time All the Time”. He is a founding member of the notable pop/punk outfit the Leftovers, who formed in 2002 and released many acclaimed records and toured all over North America and Europe. Kurt Baker’s signature unique blend of ultra catchy Beach Boys/Beatles styled melodies under a relentless wall of high energy guitars and pounding rhythms have earned him the praise of Larry Livermore (founder of Lookout Records), Ben Weasel (Screeching Weasel) and Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup).
Kurt emerged as a solo artist with a “labor of love” solo EP, “Got It Covered”, (2010 Oglio Records). Produced by Los Angeles based pop genius, Linus of Hollywood, “Got It Covered” featured Baker’s take on some of his favorite Power Pop songs of the 70’s and 80’s and featured guest appearances from Kay Hanley (Letters To Cleo) and Adam Marcello (Katy Perry). Kurt’s love of these classic songs all had one thing in common- “a key sense of melody.. and melody has always been the most important aspect of music to me. If you have a catchy hook in your song, you can do no wrong. I’ve always strived to write music that is catchy and fun.. that will be stuck in your head for hours after listening”.
When looking at what drives Kurt’s musical passion, he can pinpoint the second his life was changed by music. “The first record I ever loved was “Rubber Soul” by the Beatles. I must have been 5 years old when my uncle played me his cassette tape in his gigantic van as we drove through the rolling hills of Wisconsin. I’ll never forget the feeling that I felt when I first heard the opening chords of “Drive My Car” and the rockin’ shuffle of “The Word”.. even the melodic 12 string intro of Harrison’s “If I Needed Someone” hit me as something totally new and foreign. The songs in “Rubber Soul” just struck something in me.. it was exciting, and almost indescribable. I finally felt like I understood something.”
This CD contains both albums “Got It Covered” and “Rockin For A Living” plus two rare bonus tracks “Why You Gotta Lie? (Acoustic Demo)” and “Trouble Boys”.

2. Don’t Steal My Heart Away
3. Can’t Have Her Back

Los Angeles California – Nerd Rock favorites Nerf Herder will be releasing their fourth album entitled “IV” via their new deal with Oglio Records, distributed by Fontana/Universal. “IV” is produced by Angus Cooke (former The Ataris), owner of legendary Santa Barbara based Orange Whip Studios. Nerf Herder will tour to support “IV” which includes odes to cassettes, orange backpacks, golfshirts, orb clutching dragons, manatees, the awesomeness of Led Zeppelin, Santa Barbara, high school dances and later high school reunions all mixed with perhaps the album’s greatest secret ingredient, unrequited love.
The razor witted “IV” continues in the vein of the classic Nerf Herder of “Sorry”, “High Five Anxiety”, “Mr. Spock” and “Van Halen” fame, as well as sly Jim Gaffigan references, securing the band as one of melodic Geek Rock’s leading lights. Lev Grossman from Time Magazine’s “Nerd World” blog recently had not one but two Nerf Herder tracks in their Top 10 All Time Nerd-Pop and Nerdcore Songs. New music videos include “Oh Me, Oh My” and an animated video for “Manatee” by Decoy Milk.
The band takes their name from a Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back reference — when Princess Leia insults Han Solo with “Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder!”. They are also responsible for the Buffy The Vampire Slayer theme song and performed as the very last band to play show’s fictional venue during Buffy’s final season. Nerf Herder music can also be heard in the MLB 2K7 video game and in the Geek By Night podcast series.

SINGULARITY” was named after my painting which we used for the album cover. A singularity is a profound event such as the “big bang”, which was the creation of the universe. I could have started with something smaller, such as, say the destruction of a galaxy or two, but I figured what the hell. Hopefully, the music evokes thoughts along those lines. I’m very happy, that after all these years, I was able to record some flamenco guitar, which comprises the intro’s for two of the songs, ‘Russian Caravan” and “Event Horizon” I’m also very happy with some of the slide guitar such as on “Southern Cross” and “Let It Slide”

Roger Alan Wade is a country western singer/songwriter with over 20 years in the business. He has written for the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and George Jones. Hell, he even has a couple of gold records and a #1 song with Hank Williams Jr.’s “Country State of Mind,” to show for it. His “If You’re Gonna Be Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough” song ended up on the Jackass soundtrack and became the unofficial theme of the movie.
Roger gained national attention when his first cousin, the actor Johnny Knoxville sent some songs he recorded in Knoxville’s living room to Howard Stern. Stern liked them so much he invited Roger to New York to perform live in the studio. The response was so great, the cousins decided to make an album and “All Likkered Up” is the debut release from the new alliance between Oglio Entertainment and Johnny Knoxville Records.

Wikipedia (September 2011) – Shonen Knife, which transliterates as Shonen Naifu, literally “Boy Knife,” is an all-female Japanese pop-punk band formed in Osaka, Japan, in 1981. Heavily influenced by 1960s girl groups, pop bands, The Beach Boys, and early punk rock acts, such as the Ramones, the trio crafts stripped-down songs expressing infectious melodies and simplistic, exuberant lyrics sung both in Japanese and English.
Despite their pop-oriented nature, the trio maintains a distinctly underground garage rock sound rooted in edgy instrumentation and D.I.Y. aesthetics, which over the course of their long career has earned them a solid, worldwide cult following and made avid fans out of seminal ’90s alternative rock acts such as Sonic Youth, Nirvana, and Redd Kross. The band has been credited with making “the international pop underground more international” by “opening it up to bands from Japan”. They have also performed as a Ramones tribute band under the name The Osaka Ramones.

Hailing from Portland, Maine, The Leftovers formed in 2002, have played over 350 shows to date including touring the UK and has garnered a true cult following within the underground pop-punk scene, getting attention from all-stars Ben Weasel (of Screeching Weasel fame) and Larry Livermore (founder of Lookout Records).
The Leftovers are a freakin' breath of fresh air! They are fun, fascinating and ROCKIN'! And most of all, chicks dig 'em!
