Originally released by Oglio Records in 1996, *Rock and Roll Will Never Die* captures Chicago cult artist Wesley Willis in his mid-90s prime, documenting his signature song-form: preset-backed Technics keyboard tracks, spoken/sung verses, and shout-along choruses built around real people and bands he encountered. Across 24 songs, he name-checks everyone from Hootie & The Blowfish, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters to Shonen Knife, Liz Phair, and KMFDM, delivering off-kilter tributes that sit somewhere between outsider art, punk energy, and homemade hip-hop.
