The single “Gone” is produced by Jack White and sees My Bubba joined in Third Man Studios by a backing combo comprised of bassist Jack Lawrence, keyboardist Dean Fertita, and legendary Nashville drummer Whip Triplet. “Gone” is the A-side and the first of their songs written on a century-old lap harp, which was procured from an old boyfriend’s attic. After breaking up, My Bubba wrote this song about the old lover on the lap harp. On the B-Side, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” serves as one of the first songs the duo ever sang together in Copenhagen. They still play it most evenings together on the road.

Nerf Herder's IV finally hits vinyl for the first time on August 14! Originally released on CD in 2008, this reunion album brought back the lineup of Parry Gripp, Charlie Dennis, and Steve Sherlock, and proved the band that gave us "Van Halen" and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer theme still had plenty of hooks, humor, and punk energy left in the tank. Packed with fan favorites like "High School Reunion," "Led Zeppelin Rules," and "The Backpack Song," and mastered at Colorado's legendary Blasting Room, IV is one of the hidden gems of 2000s pop-punk. Seventeen years later, it's finally arriving in the format fans have been asking for all along.

Los Angeles California – Nerd Rock favorites Nerf Herder will be releasing their fourth album entitled “IV” via their new deal with Oglio Records, distributed by Fontana/Universal. “IV” is produced by Angus Cooke (former The Ataris), owner of legendary Santa Barbara based Orange Whip Studios. Nerf Herder will tour to support “IV” which includes odes to cassettes, orange backpacks, golfshirts, orb clutching dragons, manatees, the awesomeness of Led Zeppelin, Santa Barbara, high school dances and later high school reunions all mixed with perhaps the album’s greatest secret ingredient, unrequited love.
The razor witted “IV” continues in the vein of the classic Nerf Herder of “Sorry”, “High Five Anxiety”, “Mr. Spock” and “Van Halen” fame, as well as sly Jim Gaffigan references, securing the band as one of melodic Geek Rock’s leading lights. Lev Grossman from Time Magazine’s “Nerd World” blog recently had not one but two Nerf Herder tracks in their Top 10 All Time Nerd-Pop and Nerdcore Songs. New music videos include “Oh Me, Oh My” and an animated video for “Manatee” by Decoy Milk.
The band takes their name from a Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back reference — when Princess Leia insults Han Solo with “Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder!”. They are also responsible for the Buffy The Vampire Slayer theme song and performed as the very last band to play show’s fictional venue during Buffy’s final season. Nerf Herder music can also be heard in the MLB 2K7 video game and in the Geek By Night podcast series.
